First Aikido Grading

After a whole year, Nano went for his first grading. Prior to that, Dada was drilling him on the movements, irimi-tenkan and tenkan and also the techniques that were to be tested. He had done well at home, practising with Dada. As things would be, he was partnered with an uke who had no "spirit" in him and certainly spoilt things for Nano. Thankfully, he passed and we hope this would spur him on to concentrate in class and aim for the next grade.

We are very proud of his achievement especially since both of us are Aikidokas as well. :-)

All grown up ...

It's been 2 weeks since his lil brother was born. He's still as excited and concerned about his brother and comes home from school with the first question being "Is Matthew alright ?". Awwwww .. isn't that sweet ??

So far he's taking all this in his stride. We do notice the little anxieties he has especially when it comes to bedtime and we try our best to reassure him that we do love him. And he has been trying his best to put on his best behaviour.

some complications set in at week 34 ... and baby matthew had to be evicted early. still, at 35+ wks, he turned out to be a good weight.

nanosaurus is pretty much happy about his little brother. i've also noticed that he seems more matured suddenly. he's really trying to be a good boy. we are also conscious of making time for him as well so that it doesn't seem like he's been left out. we are glad that he's accepting his lil brother and asked a few times to carry him. :)
